Katherine possesses over 25 years of experience across a diverse range of educational settings, including remote Indigenous schools, international institutions, universities, and collaborations with various Armed Forces globally. Her expertise lies in Curriculum Design and Development, alongside Teacher Training. She has actively contributed to the International Baccalaureate Organization's (IBO) curriculum development and review initiatives and has played a pivotal role in designing and implementing training programs for both the British and Australian Armed Forces. Notably, Katherine led the design, implementation, and delivery of the first IB Educator Certificate courses for the Diploma Programme (DP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Primary Years Programme (PYP) in South Korea.
Throughout her career, Katherine has held a number of leadership positions, including Director of the IB Educator Certificate in Teaching and Learning (PYP, MYP, DP), Head of IBDP Psychology, and MYP Personal Project & DP CAS Coordinator. Currently, she teaches across three IB programmes (MYP, DP, and CP), drawing on her extensive pedagogical expertise. Katherine also serves as an assessor for Australian Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers, and she herself holds AITSL Lead Teacher status.
In addition to her teaching and leadership roles, Katherine is a member of the IBO’s 16+ review team, where her focus is on the integration of Indigenous perspectives within the IB curriculum. Her academic work is equally distinguished; her PhD research centered on the relevance of International Baccalaureate programmes for Indigenous students. Further, her Master of Arts in International Educational Leadership and Change encompassed IB Educator Certificates in Leadership Practice and Leadership Research.
Katherine is also an IB parent, with both of her children having completed the IB PYP and MYP programmes, and her youngest currently engaged in the Career-related Programme (CP).
